The Latin American Jewish Studies Association (LAJSA) is pleased to announce the 2025 Edna Aizenberg Research Award, established in honor of Dr. Edna Aizenberg, a distinguished scholar and longtime leader in the field. This annual award supports innovative research in Latin American Jewish Studies.
Award Amount: USD $2,000
Eligibility: Doctoral candidates working on their dissertation or recent PhD recipients (within five years) developing their first sole-authored scholarly monograph. Applicants must be current LAJSA members (2025 membership dues paid).
Application Deadline: May 1, 2025
Submission Format: A single Word or PDF document (in English, Spanish, or Portuguese) sent to Darrell B. Lockhart (lockhart@unr.edu) and Evelyn Dean-Olmsted (dr.emdean@gmail.com).
The selected recipient will be notified by June 15, 2025, and the award will be officially announced at the LAJSA XXI Conference in Bogotá as well as on LAJSA’s website and social media.
